TO-SYN-FUEL: Ground-breaking ceremony for demonstration plant to convert waste biomass into fuel
Guest of Honour: Rally Legend Walter Röhrl
In the EU-funded TO-SYN-FUEL project, the industrial production of synthetic fuels and green hydrogen from waste biomass is being implemented on an industrial scale. The fuel production plants will be erected in the market town of Hohenburg (district of Amberg-Sulzbach, Upper Palatinate).
The location offers numerous advantages: there is many years of experience on site in the drying and handling of sewage sludge. The quantities and quality of feedstock required in the project are available in Hohenburg.
The ground-breaking ceremony for the plant will take place on 7 November at 14:15 hrs. After a brief ceremony with the client, project consortium and guest of honour Walter Röhrl, there will be a preview of the planned plants and a live demonstration of the fuel obtained from sewage sludge.
Technology workshop afterwards
Following the ceremony, Fraunhofer UMSICHT will offer an in-depth technology workshop at the institute in Sulzbach-Rosenberg (approx. 20 minutes away by car) in which the project goals and perspectives of synthetic biofuels of the latest generation can be discussed.
We look forward to your participation!
