RRB 15: International Conference on Renewable Resources & Biorefineries

Jan Grunwald, Energy Technology Department of Fraunhofer UMSICHT is represented at the RRB-15. He will present a lecture with the topic »To-Syn-Fuel: Turning sewage sludge into fuels and hydrogen«.

Background EU Project To-Syn-Fuel

On 01 May 2017, the EU project »The Demonstration of Waste Biomass to Synthetic Fuels and Green Hydrogen« (acronym: TO-SYN-FUEL) was launched, which Fraunhofer UMSICHT's Energy Technology Department is carrying out together with other partners. The project has a volume of over 14 million euros and a duration of 48 months. Fraunhofer UMSICHT Sulzbach-Rosenberg coordinates the Horizon 2020 project. The project will show how fuel and hydrogen are produced from residual biomass without synthesis for the first time in history.

The RRB Conference

The three-day international conference consists of plenary lectures, oral presentations, poster presentations and an exhibition. About 350 international participants from over 30 countries will participate in the conference.

The aim of the conference is to provide an overview of the scientific, technical, economic, environmental and social issues of renewable resources and biorefineries that can stimulate the bio-based economy to new developments in this field.
