7th International Bioenergy Conference and Exhibition in Canada

Fraunhofer UMSICHT and Susteen Technologies Canada Ltd. took place at the 7th International Bioenergy Conference and Exhibition in Prince George, British Columbia in Canada. They presented the services of Fraunhofer UMSICHT at the exhibition to get in contact with new customers. Canada is an important new market and the level of interest in the TCR®-technology of Fraunhofer UMSICHT is high.

»The event was a total success and everything was going excellent at the exhibition« reported Bruce Hillen, Executive Director Susteen Technologies Canada Ltd. Markus Heberlein (Fraunhofer UMSICHT), Gary Pickering and Bruce Hillen of Susteen Technologies Canada Ltd., who were running the booth, were delighted about the huge number of interested visitors. Especially companies from the forestry sector were interested in the TCR®-technology of Fraunhofer UMSICHT to use wood pellets or woody biomass as feedstock.

»We explain the customers our TCR®-technology and our services. The interest was very high and many visitors asked for advice. Also airlines are interested to use the TCR®-technology for green fuel as product« told Markus Heberlein of Fraunhofer UMSICHT. Over the three days of the conference, held at the centre of one of the largest biomass fibre baskets in the world, where many opportunities to learn more about the industry in British Columbia as well as the latest global trends in fibre supply, sustainability, products, technology, policies and other drivers of the future bioeconomy. Fraunhofer UMSICHT and Susteen Technologies Canada Ltd. got the chance to meet leaders in manufacturing, technology and production at Canada’s biggest bioenergy exhibition.

Furthermore Markus Heberlein, Bruce Hillen and Gary Pickering  were visiting the laboratories and test stand of AITF (Alberta Innovates Technology Futures) in Vegreville. They talked with the department »Processing Technologies« and the group »Thermochemical Processing« of AITF about future partnership. AITF is a big research center in Canada and they were very interested in working together with Fraunhofer UMSICHT. The exhibition was an important step to introduce the TCR®-technology to the Canadian market.
