The first step of the meeting was a series of lectures given by the firm Susteen Technologies, the Fraunhofer UMSICHT Institute, IS2M and RITTMO. Topics were varied and embraced the sourcing of feedstocks, pyrolysis process, by-products obtained (bio-char, bio-gas, bio-oil) and their use for agronomic or energy purposes.

The second highlight of the event was the visit of different pyrolysers, from lab scale to industrial pilot scale. Many questions were addressed to Thorsten Hornung (Susteen Technology CEO) as regards the TCR 300® that can produce energy once pyrolysis process is launched.

Lastly, a brainstorming meeting was held in order to develop collaborations in the future. Different ideas were discussed between all participants. RITTMO Agroenvironnement©, the Fraunhofer UMSICHT Institute and IS2M will work closely to strengthen their relationship and give concrete solutions to the circular economy challenges.
