Dr.-Ing. Christiopher Kick presents the TCR® process.

After a three-year break, EUBCE 2023 - the world's largest biomass conference and exhibition - took place again. Nearly 1,500 participants from 79 countries attended. Science and industry exchanged ideas on the latest ideas, technologies, applications and solutions for the procurement, production and use of biomass.

Three scientists from Fraunhofer UMSICHT in Sulzbach-Rosenberg were each represented with a lecture or poster presentation:

Dr.-Ing. Christopher Kick is currently engaged in research and development on vegetable coals or biochar by carbonization / pyrolysis. In his presentation he shared the latest findings: »Development and commissioning of an innovative biorefinery for the conversion of contaminated biomass into high-quality energy carriers« (Dr. Ing. Christopher Kick)

Presentation

Jan Grunwald presented how sustainable fuels are created from biogenic residues. The hydrogenation of oils obtained from the TCR® process was the focus of his presentation:

»Hydrogenation of TCR®-Oils - A Pathway from Biogenic Residues to Sustainable Fuels« (Jan Grunwald)

Hillary Onyebuchi Onyishi presented a poster presentation on the impact of adding red mud as a catalyst in the TCR® process:

»Influence of red mud as a catalyst in the thermo-catalytic reforming process« Hillary Onyebuchi Onyishi)
