As part of the world's leading application-oriented research institution, Fraunhofer UMSICHT not only evaluates the waste management of today, but also develops and implements recycling technologies for tomorrow.
Katharina Reh has been employed at the Fraunhofer Institute for Environmental, Safety and Energy Technology UMSICHT, Sulzbach-Rosenberg branch, since 2011. Since then, she has led and designed several projects in the field of waste management concepts and material flow management. In 2014, she became head of the working group »Waste and Resource Strategies« and took over the management of the department »Circular Economy« in March 2021. In 2023, the department »Secondary Resources and Assessment« was newly founded and is headed by Katharina Reh.
From 2005 to 2010, she studied waste management and contaminated site treatment at the Technical University of Dresden. Since 2015, she has held a lectureship at the Technical University of Munich on the topic of »Treatment of Hazardous Substances and Waste«.
