Dr. Fabian Stenzel gives a lecture on technologies from Fraunhofer UMSICHT

Fraunhofer UMSICHT is participating in the event »Biorefineries Powered by Renewable Energies – Green Catalysis as Enabler of New Valorization Pathways,« which is being offered in cooperation with Fraunhofer IBG, the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), Instituto de Pesquisas Teclologicas (IPT), and DWIH in Sao Paolo. Fabian Stenzel, Business Development, will talk about the latest technologies from Fraunhofer UMSICHT.

Fraunhofer UMSICHT and Fraunhofer Liaison Office Brazil have a long-standing Brazilian-German research partnership.

Sustainable technologies in transition: From biomass to CO₂ utilization

The event will focus on the latest advances in sustainable technologies related to biomass utilization, CO2 capture, and utilization.

Day 1 (December 2, 2025) will be dedicated to the use of biogenic raw materials, the thermochemical conversion of waste and residues, and innovative approaches to upgrading biomass, including bioethanol, glycerin, biomass pyrolysis, and co-refining.

Day 2 (December 3) will focus on the production of synthetic fuels and chemicals from CO₂, synthesis gas, and alcohols, with discussions on Fischer-Tropsch processes, sustainable synthetic fuels, and new CO₂ conversion technologies.

In addition, the event will cover advances in electrochemical technologies for applications in renewable energy, CO2 conversion, and biomass processing.
