Prof. Dr.-Ing. Matthias Franke gave a keynote address on a functioning circular economy

Fraunhofer UMSICHT is taking part in the VCI Chemie3 Roadshow 2026 in Munich with a presentation by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Matthias Franke, Head of the Sulzbach-Rosenberg branch. He will speak on the topic of the circular economy and share insights from research and development. He will also be available as a contact person during networking sessions for one-to-one discussions.

In his presentation, Matthias Franke provides insights into alternative raw materials from the circular economy for the chemical industry, including examples of projects from Bavaria. He demonstrates how these technologies can be scaled up in practice and discusses potential funding schemes available in Bavaria.

Afterwards, he will host a networking session, where participants will have the opportunity to exchange ideas in person.

The event will address the following questions:

What specific opportunities do the various approaches to the circular economy offer in terms of business models, value creation and employment? How can we strengthen the circular economy, make processes more efficient, reduce dependencies and shape the workplace of the future? What policy framework can businesses expect, and how can this be successfully implemented in practice?
