Fraunhofer UMSICHT is participating in the Sardinia Symposium 2025 - 20th international symposium on waste management, resource recovery and sustainable landfilling, in Italy. In his presentation, Michael Peer from the Advanced Carbon Conversion Technologies department will talk about the chemical recycling of PVC-containing plastic waste for LED recycling using iCycle® technology.

In his lecture, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Matthias Franke, director of the Fraunhofer Institute for Environmental, Safety- and Energy Technology UMSICHT, Institute Branch Sulzbach-Rosenberg will introduce Fraunhofer to all interested students at OTH Amberg-Weiden who are enrolled in technical or chemistry-related degree programs. Following the introduction, students will have the opportunity to meet our scientists directly in a speed-dating and learn more about the career opportunities.

Fraunhofer UMSICHT is participating in »Infratech 2026« in Essen. Felix Kugler's presentations provide information on current research into CO₂-neutral brick production, where a wood gasifier has been successfully integrated, and also offer an insight into various storage technologies. Dr. Thomas Fehn will present the innovative INNOTEER process for recycling and decontaminating tar-containing asphalt and road rubble.
